Edward “Eddie” Raymond Berray

Tribal spouse Edward “Eddie” Raymond Berray, 83, a resident of Vancouver, Wash., died on Friday, March 8, 2019. He was born on Aug. 5, 1935, in Hillsborough, Fla., the son of Edward W. and Ruth E. Tritt Berray.
He lived in Clearwater Beach, Fla., until moving to Fond du Lac, Wis. He moved to McMinnville, Ore., where he graduated from high school in 1953.
Eddie served in the Army and was honorably discharged in June 1962. He then moved to Vancouver, Wash., where he owned and operated a painting business called Berray Painting until 2017. On June 30, 1984, he married Grand Ronde Tribal member Lillian “Lynn” Louise Smith Druliner in Vancouver.
He was an avid hobbyist and enjoyed motorcycling, slot cars, riding go-karts at Pat’s Acres, flying indoor/outdoor model airplanes and competing annually at the Indoor Free Flight competition at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho. He also volunteered with the Vancouver High School Science Olympiads, building balsa wood planes with the students.
He enjoyed his coffee group and always had a couple of jokes to share. He was always very supportive of his wife and her hobbies. He enjoyed friends and family, and will be deeply missed by everyone.
He is survived by his stepchildren, Deborah (Jeff) L. Shaw of Albany, Ore., Steven (Sue) W. Druliner of Silverton, Ore., and Pam (Chris Nash) L. Druliner of Boise, along with eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a cousin, Donna Raatz of Winneconne, Wis. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Berray, on Dec. 29, 2011.
