Supplemental budget hearings slated for June 26
Tribal Council will hold two supplemental budget hearings during its 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 26, meeting regarding the acquisition of two pieces of property that would require an increase to the adopted 2019 budget.
One hearing will be about increasing the budget by $542,400 to acquire part of the Noble Oaks Preserve property south of Willamina.
Tribal Council agreed to assume wildlife management of the 667.5-acre Noble Oaks Preserve from The Nature Conservancy during its May 15 meeting. However, an additional 2.75 acres on the Noble Oaks property that includes a 4,502-square-foot home is separate from The Nature Conservancy donation to the Tribe.
The second hearing will be about increasing the budget by more than $17 million to purchase two properties in Clackamas County – one that includes more than a mile of waterfront along the Willamette River and the 23-acre Blue Heron paper mill site at Willamette Falls.
Written comments regarding the two supplemental budget proposals are due to Finance Officer Chris Leno by noon Wednesday, June 26.
Hearings to increase the adopted budget are required by the Budget & Appropriations Ordinance. Notices about the hearings were posted outside the Governance Center on Tuesday, June 11.
