Police and medics respond to gunshot victim in Grand Ronde

A Sheridan man was shot multiple times at a residence located on Southwest Lachance Road in Grand Ronde in the early hours of Thursday, March 27,

According to a post on the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, deputies and medics responded to the incident. The wounded victim was transported to a nearby hospital and their condition is not known at this time.

The suspect was reported to be a Woodburn resident but was not named.

“He initially fled the scene though he was briefly in contact by telephone with 911,” Yamhill County Sheriff Sam Elliot said in the Facebook post. “After several hours of intensive efforts to locate him, the suspect turned himself in to law enforcement.”

The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating but stated there is no danger to the public at this time related to this incident. Alcohol consumption was a factor in the alleged altercation.
